Have recently (read: last two minutes) decided that I need to see Pirates of the Carribbean again. Definatly again. Perhaps Ashley and I can go on a free movie trip and I will be able to claim five veiwings without paying once...*thinks of Johnny Depp**drools*Yes, definitely need to see it again.

19th post on my 19th birthday!

I am offically 19...like I said before- not too much of a difference all in all, but it is kinda cool. Got lotsa stuff from my mom. She got me a box of school stuff like paper, pencils, a tape dispenser, a hole puncher, staples and that sorta junk, then another box of bathroom stuff like shampoo, lotion and stuff like that, a lamp, towels, a hamper, dark blue bed sheets, a microfiber fleece light blue/dark blue comforter, a pillow, laundry tablets, and shoes. She also gave me her big backpack- the kind you use for hiking, and my sister gave me a smaller backpack(which will work better than the big one for going to classes) and Rick is letting me use his Cannondale, a high quality road bike to get around school.Didn't really do a whole lot today. I had to work from eleven to five. I got to sleep till about ten thirty. After work mamaw and I went over to moms house for dinner, cake and presents. We had a really good steak dinner and my mom made a cake. We ran out of candles though- we only had nine, so we lit them, they sang 'Happy Birthday,' I blew them out, we re-lit them, they re-sang 'Happy Birthday,' I blew them out, and then we lit two more to make twenty- ninteen birthdays and one to grow on, they sang 'Happy Birthday' agian and I blew them out for the last time. Twas pretty funny. The rest of the night was spent on presents and changing the tires on the Cannondale. All in all a good birthday^.^

I have one day left to be eighteen. Kinda snuck up on me this year...I knew it was coming and all but I didn't even realize it till I was talking to David on the phone the other night and he asked when my birthday was (I had mentioned that my mom was going to buy me dorm stuff for my b-day) and then commented on the fact that it was only three days away. I doubt it will be too much different being ninteen...the only really different feeling birthdays I think will be twenty one and maybe thirty. Twenty one baby!In other news...I was contacted Thursday by my closest childhood friend Ashley. Actually she called my mom and asked if she has a daughter named Felicia who lived at my Scottsdale address, to which my mom replied with a very surprised 'who is this' followed by 'is this Ashley?' Mom called me then and I called Ashley, and she came over today! Apparently Ashley had remembered that my birthday was coming up and went online to find all the Mindas in the area she last knew I was at with my last name. So we talked a while and decided that she simply had to come over today. We went to the mall and just walked around...tried on ridiculously high heels, a couple clothes, some expensive makeup and tons of Bath and Body works lotions. We ended up looking like we had been in some sort of massive glitter explosion after the lotion incidents, but it was fun. We also saw Holes, which was actually a really cool movie and Finding Nemo which was really cute. Ashley is now a manager at Harkins so we got free movie passes and stuff...it was pretty cool. We decided that we will have to get together and go shopping for school clothes soon. Anyways, thats about it for now...not much else has happened romantically, although we did hang out with him today when he got off work. Ashley was surprised that my method of talking myself out of dating him for some time had been reminding myself of the fact that he is shorter than me...Apparently that wasn't a good excuse for very long because I have decided I am pretty interested in dating him. Perhaps tomorrow we shall go watch American Psycho and Bedazzled. I'll have more to write about then ^.~Definitely off to bed now...Felicia

Oh yea...

A couple other interesting things have happened besides my strange little soap opera in my head. First things first, I got a random compliment at the library the other day. I was just sitting at a table (or rather the table as our library is quite small) reading a magazine when a guy came up and plopped down his bag at the end of the table. I glanced over to see if I knew the owner. He had left by that time but when he returned he asked if he could share a table with me. I glanced up and replied 'sure' at which he exclaimed that I had the most amazing eyes he has ever seen. I thanked him and said that that was the first time I had gotten a compliment on my eyes in a while because I had been wearing rather thick glasses for the past four years. We ended up having quite a nice little conversation after that- he is supposedly a poet working on his first book and has been published in a few magazines and other such works over the years. Twas a nice little experience to have a complete stranger make such a comment though. Secondly, I have another job. This one is an actual job job too- not some bullshit commissions only sales shit. Unfortunatly, this one part of the food service industry. Even more unfortunatly, this one is part of the fast food service industry. The story is as follows...I had been looking for a job all summer when I decided to go to the nearby McDonalds and apply. They were out of applications but were in fact actually hiring-which was a major difference from every other possibility I had been able to track down. Because they were hiring but out of applications, I left my name and number there for the manager to call if she wanted me to come in for an interview. I did this never expecting to hear from them again of course, but I figured it would be a good idea. Then low and behold, I get a call on Saturday from the manager asking me to come in Monday to fill out an application and go for an interview on the spot. I came, I filled out, I interviewed and she informed me that she would like me to come back for orientation later that day. I had been hired, just like that. I only have about two weeks left to work of course, but thats about two hundred dollars I can make. Anyways, I went back to orientation earlier today. Behind the counter at McDonalds is definatly the last place I ever wanted to find myself again. The floor and the grease and the smell and just the feel in the air makes me want to cringe and run away. Money is money though, and I am definatly a lot smarter and a lot wiser than I was the first time I worked at McDonalds. Too bad being smarter and wiser won't erase the memories...Anyways...thats whats been going on lately. Why on this little ball of rock whose creation is at this very moment being debated in probably more than one place do humans have to endure this confusing muddle of stuff we call emotions?We could all learn a bit from the computers- they just do what they are told. Though according to some they will eventually evolve a conciousness and then the only difference between them and us will be the metal...Let me tell you- getting to close to friends certianly can be confusing. I mean- how is a girl supposed to know the difference between a guy wanting her and a guy wanting her? Perhaps I read too much into the little details. But then, anwser this... If you are friends with a guy for a little under a year, have always noticed a possible tension between the two of you but have always tried to blame it on his flirty behavior, then one night end up lying next to him with his arms around you and your arms around him, then end up kissing him, or maybe more, and the next night the process progresses, and on the morning after the third night of this type of behavior he dosen't seem to want to kiss you- is there a problem? Were you correct in thinking that perhaps you shouldn't have let the first night progress? Or are you just reading too much into a tired boys actions? Would it be wise to go out with him or perhaps just keep it a 'friends with benefits' type of situation? Is it possible to have just friends with benefits? Do I want just friends with benefits?
